The brief was to upgrade the existing lighting that was considered to uniform and failed to provide the intimacy and ambiance required in the refurbishment intentions of the restaurant. The theme of the restaurant was to be Asian and Balinese cane shades with incandescent sources were used to provide a low level of lighting throughout the general spaces of the restaurant.

The intimacy element required for the individual dining tables was achieved with multi-lamp 35 Watt narrow beam tungsten halogen sources housed in ceiling recessed luminaries that highlight the floral arrangements on the tables besides providing necessary spill light for dining. Balinese artefacts and other art displays were highlighted using 50W low voltage dichroic luminaries. Similar treatment with the exception of the cane shades was used in the entrance and lounge areas of the restaurant.
